Governance and Accountability
Building a large-scale project that includes both private and public sector investment requires a governance model that ensures the effective use of taxpayer dollars and also allows the flexibility needed to work with the private sector.
To do this, the Eastern Ontario Regional Network was created as a not-for-profit corporation owned by the 13 municipalities that make up the Eastern Ontario Wardens' Caucus. The governance structure ensures EORN is held accountable by elected officials of the EOWC. EORN's board also includes representatives from the Eastern Ontario Mayors' Caucus. Financial statements are also posted annually.
