At EORN we remain steadfast in our commitment to improving connectivity for everyone including Indigenous communities. Guided by our Indigenous Relations Policy, we are dedicated to meaningful consultation with Indigenous communities and organizations during the length of the Cell Gap Project.
For the Cell Gap Project, EORN has been delegated the duty to consult by the Crown and was provided a list of First Nations and other Indigenous communities and organizations to consult with. EORN is providing regular project updates on significant milestones to all these Indigenous communities and organizations and seeks dialog and input as the project progresses.
Ensuring that consultation with First Nations and Indigenous communities and organizations is done meaningfully requires a commitment by both EORN and its private sector partners to listen and respond to the concerns and requests for mitigation on the proposed new tower building sites in the spirit of good faith, mutual respect and honesty.
EORN is consulting with Indigenous communities to ensure that new cell infrastructure is built with respect for Indigenous rights and heritage.
